A Photoshop document can contain layers, masks, live text, effects, Smart Objects, artboards, and other editing structure. PerfectVector does not translate that structure into SVG. It uses the saved merged compatibility image, which is the flattened view Photoshop stored when the document was last saved.
The browser inspects and decodes that saved image locally, prepares verified pixels, and shows the final image before vectorization. Your original PSD or PSB source is not uploaded. Only the prepared image you confirm can enter the existing vectorization workflow.
The SVG contains vector paths rebuilt from those visible pixels. A flattened logo, badge, lettering design, icon, or flat illustration can become scalable shapes again, but the original Photoshop layer stack, editable type, masks, effects, and Smart Object contents do not return.
Use the clearest saved version you have. Flat colors, strong edges, readable negative space, and limited shading usually produce cleaner paths. Keep the Photoshop document or export a raster image when photographic detail, soft texture, subtle gradients, or the original editing structure matters more than vector geometry.
