PDF is a document container, not automatically a vector or raster format. One page can hold native vector objects, scanned pixels, or a mixture of both, and the right SVG workflow depends on what you need to preserve.
PerfectVector uses the trace path for every accepted PDF. The browser renders one page locally, shows the exact prepared image, and then rebuilds its visible artwork as SVG paths. It does not extract the PDF's original objects, live text, fonts, layers, or document structure.
That makes scanned and flattened artwork the strongest reason to use this workflow. Logos, stamps, lettering, diagrams, symbols, and high-contrast line art can become scalable shapes instead of pixels wrapped inside an SVG.
If the PDF already contains clean native vectors and you need their original structure, export it directly with a PDF-aware design tool. Keep photographs, soft gradients, paper texture, and subtle tone as raster content when pixel fidelity matters more than editable geometry.
