Turn one GIF frame into EPS artwork.

A STILL WORTH KEEPING
One good frame. A new print life.
An animated badge may contain the exact emblem you need for a poster or event card. Choose the moment when the whole design is visible, then inspect the traced still.
Animation stays in the original GIF.

- 01
Complete shape
Choose a frame with the whole emblem visible. A clipped or in-between shape stays clipped or in-between when traced.
- 02
Quiet edges
Avoid motion blur, fades and large areas of dither where another frame offers a cleaner boundary.
- 03
Useful detail
Check tiny text and dot patterns. Decide whether those details belong in the printed design.
BEFORE YOU SEND THE EPS
Check the artwork.
Confirm the print requirements.
Your EPS contains filled vector shapes in RGB, with a white or black background. Check that this matches what your printer or designer needs.

- Inspect the traced artwork and its smallest details.
- RGB fills
- Ask the printer about CMYK conversion or spot-color preparation.
- Opaque background
- Choose white or black. Use a different format when transparency is required.
- Final placement
- Open the export in the receiving application and verify its scale and appearance.
GIF TO EPS
From source pixels to a reviewed EPS.
- 01
Choose the GIF source
Upload your GIF. If it is animated, use the frame selector to choose one complete still image.
- 02
Inspect the free preview
Compare the free preview with the selected still. Check tiny gaps, jagged edges and specks from dotted shading.
- 03
Unlock, then refine
Unlock the result with one credit to edit and export. Adjust colors or remove unwanted shapes if needed, then select EPS.
- 04
Download and check the EPS
Choose a white or black background and download the EPS. Open it in the receiving application to check its size, background and colors.
KNOW YOUR GIF SOURCE
Choose the still you want to print.
Compare animation frames for a complete design, then inspect small gaps and dotted shading.
What changes when GIF becomes EPS?
A static GIF or one frame from an animation can become vector artwork for EPS export. Choose a frame where the whole design is visible, then check whether dotted shading or jagged edges became unwanted shapes.
Inspect the preview for free. Unlock the result with one credit to edit and export, then select EPS and choose a white or black background.
This EPS export uses RGB colors and an opaque background. If your supplier needs CMYK, named spot colors or separate ink plates, prepare those in a print application. Check the final file against the supplier's requirements.
For a selected frame that needs a transparent vector handoff, use GIF to SVG. Check small palette regions and dithering before committing to either output.
Useful starting points
- Limited-palette badges and emblems
- Bold still graphics from an owned animation
- Simple icons with distinct shapes
Before vectorizing
- For an animated GIF, confirm the exact still frame in the frame selector.
- Choose a frame where the complete artwork is visible without overlapping motion.
- Check dotted shading (dithering), jagged edges and tiny gaps in the preview.
Before exporting EPS
- Only one confirmed frame is vectorized; animation timing and motion are not exported.
- Dotted shading may become many small traced shapes.
- A tiny pixel-art GIF may be better kept as pixels when exact pixel placement is the design.
Questions before you convert?
Will my whole GIF animation become an EPS?
No. A static GIF or one selected animation frame is traced into vector shapes and exported as a still EPS composition. Keep the original GIF if you also need its motion.
Which GIF frame should I select for a printed badge?
Choose a frame with the complete design, readable lettering and clear boundaries. Avoid partially revealed elements, blurred transitions and fades when a cleaner frame is available.
Can GIF dithering appear in the EPS?
Yes. Dither dots are visible source details and can become separate traced regions. A cleaner frame or an undithered original is often a better starting point.
Will a pixel-art GIF retain every original square?
Vectorization interprets the visible regions as paths and may change the character of pixel edges. If exact pixel placement defines the artwork, keep a raster version or review the trace particularly carefully.
Can I keep the GIF’s transparent background in EPS?
This EPS exporter paints a white or black background and does not preserve alpha transparency. A transparent source can help isolate the design, but it does not make the EPS transparent.
Can the EPS be sent straight to a printer?
Ask the printer to check the intended size, background and RGB colors. This conversion does not provide CMYK, Pantone, spot separation or PDF/X guarantees.
Can I preview the conversion for free?
Vectorizing and viewing the protected preview are free and unlimited. The first unlock of a result costs one credit and enables editing and export. Downloading that same unlocked result again does not use another credit.
