FROM MOTION TO A PAGE

Find the frame
that tells the story.

A pose for a storyboard. A badge at its fully revealed state. A title after the transition ends. Choose a still that makes sense without the frames around it.

Choose one frame in the uploader.

For an animated GIF, compare the frames and confirm a complete still before tracing. The PDF contains that one image; your original GIF keeps the animation.

Vector artwork,

GIF INPUT GUIDE

Find a complete frame for the page.

A selected still must communicate without the timing and transitions of the original animation.

Choose the moment that stands on its own.

An animated graphic can contain a useful still for a presentation, storyboard or portfolio. Choose a complete, readable moment before vectorization rather than relying on whichever frame appears first.

The PDF contains one still image, without the GIF's timing or transitions. Dotted shading, called dithering, can turn into many small vector shapes. Compare the traced result with your selected frame before using it in a document.

For a still frame you plan to recolor or use on the web, GIF to SVG provides an editable SVG handoff. Neither output carries the original animation timeline.

Useful starting points
  • A fully revealed logo or badge
  • A clear pose from a simple illustrated animation
  • A title card with large, readable lettering
Start with the source
  • Upload a static GIF directly.
  • Animated GIF files open a frame selector before vectorization.
  • Confirm one complete still, then check whether dotted shading becomes unwanted specks.
Know the boundaries
  • Only one selected frame is exported; there is no animated PDF.
  • The workflow does not turn every frame into a separate PDF page.
  • Dithering and tiny pixel details can change when interpreted as paths.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions before you convert?

Can I convert an animated GIF to PDF?

You can select one still frame from the animation, vectorize it and export a PDF. This workflow does not preserve motion or create a page for every frame.

Does the converter always take the first frame?

No. Animated GIFs open a frame selector so you can confirm the exact still you want to vectorize. A static GIF uses its single image.

Can I put all GIF frames into one PDF?

No. This workflow creates one vector artwork from one selected frame. Use a separate document workflow if you need a sequence of frames on multiple pages.

Why do dithered shadows produce many small shapes?

GIF can approximate shading with small alternating color pixels. Vectorization may interpret those visible patterns as regions. Review the selected still and its trace before exporting.

Will a pixel-art GIF keep every square exactly?

Not necessarily. Vectorization interprets pixel regions into paths and can change the character of small details. Keep the raster original if exact pixel placement is essential.

Can I edit the chosen frame after tracing?

Inspect the protected preview first. Unlock the result with one credit to use the editor tools and export PDF; the animation itself is not edited.

How does pricing work?

Vectorizing and viewing the protected preview are free and unlimited. The first unlock of a result costs one credit and enables editing and export. Downloading that same unlocked result again does not use another credit.
