WEBP INPUT GUIDE

Check the web asset before placing it in print.

Use the largest clear original available. If the WebP is animated, choose a frame that shows the complete design.

A web asset with another use.

A downloaded WebP can be the only version of a graphic in your working folder. You can upload it directly, inspect the traced shapes and export a PDF for placement in another document. There is no need to resave it as PNG first.

Use an original, larger asset when available. WebP compression, small dimensions and soft effects influence the trace. Animated WebP requires you to choose one still frame; motion is not included in the PDF.

If the graphic will return to a website rather than a document, choose WebP to SVG. Animated sources still require one selected frame in either workflow.

Useful starting points
  • Original WebP logos and symbols
  • Clear flat illustrations from an asset library
  • One complete frame from a simple animation
Start with the source
  • Upload the WebP directly; you do not need to save a PNG copy first.
  • For an animated file, select the one frame you want to turn into artwork.
  • Check the trace at a larger view, then review the PDF at its placed size.
Know the boundaries
  • A thumbnail may lack details needed for a larger layout.
  • Vectorization interprets compression and soft effects; it does not reverse them.
  • The PDF contains one still artwork, with no animation or website interactions.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions before you convert?

Do I have to convert WebP to PNG first?

No. Upload WebP directly. PerfectVector traces the graphic, or one selected frame from an animation, into vector artwork for a single-page PDF. Resaving an already compressed source as PNG does not restore lost detail.

What happens with animated WebP?

A frame selector lets you confirm one still image. That selected frame is vectorized and exported as a single-page PDF; the animation is not preserved.

Can I use a WebP saved from a website?

Use artwork you have the right to reuse. A full-size original is generally a better source than a site thumbnail or screenshot, which may include compression and unrelated page content.

Does WebP compression affect the PDF?

It can affect the traced shapes. Blocks, halos or softened edges may appear in the source and influence the vector interpretation. Review the free protected preview before unlocking.

Will the PDF be a copy of the web page?

No. The input is one image. This workflow does not capture a web page, preserve links or rebuild its HTML layout.

Can I change the traced WebP before downloading?

Once the result is unlocked with one credit, the available editor tools let you adjust the vector artwork before PDF export. Previewing the trace is free.

How does pricing work?

Vectorizing and viewing the protected preview are free and unlimited. The first unlock of a result costs one credit and enables editing and export. Downloading that same unlocked result again does not use another credit.
