A GIF may contain one image or a complete animation. PerfectVector makes that difference explicit so the vector result comes from the still frame you actually want.

GIF is a pixel format built around indexed colors, simple transparency, and optional animation. It works well for compact web graphics, but enlarging a GIF still enlarges its pixels. Converting one useful frame to SVG gives you shapes that can be scaled, recolored, and edited instead.
PerfectVector treats animation as a decision rather than silently taking the first frame. A static GIF continues through the normal preparation flow. When the file contains multiple frames, you compare the animation with a selected still and confirm the exact frame to vectorize.
The downloaded result is a still SVG, not an animated replacement for the original GIF. Flat logos, pixel art, icons, stickers, and limited-palette illustrations are usually stronger sources than photographic, heavily dithered, or very detailed animation frames.
