SEE THE DIFFERENCE

From fuzzy pixels to perfect vectors.

PerfectVector rebuilds your image as crisp, scalable vector art. Sharp at any size, anywhere.

GENERATION OR RECONSTRUCTION?

Choose by the work you need done.

Both products can take an image as input, but they are designed around different outcomes. Decide whether the source should be followed closely or used as material for a new idea.

Choose PerfectVector when

  • The existing raster is the specification, and you want a dedicated reconstruction workflow.
  • You want to upload, process, and inspect without drafting or refining a prompt.
  • You want a protected preview before spending one credit on the finished result.
  • You want a vectorizer whose core algorithms and models are built and maintained in-house.

Choose ChatGPT when

  • You want to invent a new icon, illustration, or visual direction from a description.
  • You want to revise SVG markup through a conversation instead of accepting one automatic trace.
  • You need help explaining, editing, or previewing SVG code.
  • Vector work is one part of a broader creative, writing, or coding task.

Check before choosing either

  • Use the same source and a fixed requirement if you compare the two workflows.
  • Inspect outlines, negative space, small text, transparency, gradients, and overlapping color regions.
  • Open the returned SVG and confirm it contains editable vector geometry rather than an embedded raster image.
  • Record the current ChatGPT model or mode because available actions can vary by account, device, settings, and rollout.
RUN A USEFUL TEST

Compare the workflows in four steps.

  1. 1

Decide whether you are tracing or inventing

Use reconstruction when the uploaded raster is the source of truth. Use generation when the image is inspiration and conversational changes are part of the job.

  2. 2

Hold the source and requirement steady

Run the same image through PerfectVector. If you also use ChatGPT, give it one explicit requirement and record the visible model or mode.

  3. 3

Inspect the file, not the description

Open the SVG in your editor and check shapes, colors, gaps, small details, transparency, and whether the file contains real vector geometry.

  4. 4

Keep the workflow that fits the job

Choose ChatGPT for conversational creation or code iteration. Unlock the PerfectVector result with one credit only when its protected preview passes your source-based check.

JOB COMPARISON

PerfectVector reconstructs the source. ChatGPT supports conversation and creation.

This table compares documented product jobs and workflows. It does not rank output quality or claim a universal speed winner.

Decision pointPerfectVectorChatGPT
Primary jobA dedicated raster-to-vector flow that reconstructs an uploaded image as vector paths.A general assistant whose documented image workflow creates and edits images, and whose supported code blocks can preview SVG.
InteractionUpload the source, let the vectorizer process it, then inspect the protected result.Describe the goal in a prompt, then inspect, copy, edit, or request revisions to the returned image or code.
Documented output pathThe conversion job produces an SVG result for review and finished-file unlock.OpenAI's Image API currently documents PNG, JPEG, and WebP outputs. Separately, ChatGPT can preview supported SVG code blocks.
Before committingVectorize and inspect a protected preview for free, with no usage limit. Spend one credit only when you unlock that finished result.Review the response, image, code, or preview available in the conversation. Exact actions can vary by plan, device, workspace settings, model, and rollout.
Control styleThe source image anchors a purpose-built automatic reconstruction that you judge against the original.Natural-language instructions and follow-up revisions shape a generated image or SVG-code result.
Best fitTurning an existing raster into vector paths without prompt iteration, then deciding from the preview.Inventing a new visual, revising SVG markup conversationally, or combining the SVG task with broader creative work.

A valid SVG is not automatically a faithful reconstruction. Compare the file with the source and choose for the actual job.

Sources and comparison limits

We reviewed a signed-out US English Google result page, OpenAI's current ChatGPT Images and code-block help, the current Image API guide, PerfectVector's product contracts, and Rastrix's public team description. We also attempted one exploratory ChatGPT raster-to-SVG run.

The exploratory ChatGPT output could not be retained, and the exact model was not exposed. We did not complete repeated paired runs or inspect outputs from both products. This page therefore does not compare speed, fidelity, path or node counts, editability, cleanup time, or output quality.

PerfectVector is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI. ChatGPT is named only to help visitors compare the two image-to-SVG workflows.

Before you pick a plan

You're in good company.

I'd tried everything and been let down every time — I'd given up, figuring today's tech just couldn't do this. And you actually built it. If this is real, it's genuinely incredible.

It converts at even better quality than I expected — it preserves the character of the original better than anything else I've tried.
imbee••••via Threads
PerfectVector is impressively fast, and the output quality is already very good. With a bit more refinement it could easily compete with the leading tools.
InPixelSt••••design studiovia email
Way more detailed than I expected. Opening Illustrator to convert every single time was such a chore — bookmarked.

Tried it — it's accurate. Simple images actually expose detail differences more than complex ones do, and this nails them.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions before you convert?

Can ChatGPT convert an image to SVG?+
ChatGPT can write and preview SVG code in supported code blocks, so it can attempt the job. Its documented Images workflow is centered on creating and editing images, while its Image API currently lists PNG, JPEG, and WebP outputs. That makes conversational SVG authoring different from a dedicated raster-tracing workflow.
Is PerfectVector free to try as a ChatGPT image-to-SVG alternative?+
Vectorizing and preview are always free and unlimited — you only spend a credit when you download a finished file.
What is the main difference between PerfectVector and ChatGPT for SVG?+
PerfectVector is built to reconstruct an uploaded raster as vector paths through one focused workflow. ChatGPT is a broad assistant that can generate images, write SVG code, explain it, and revise it through conversation.
When should I choose ChatGPT instead?+
Choose ChatGPT when you want to invent a visual from a description, iterate on SVG markup in natural language, or combine the design task with explanation, writing, or code work.
Is PerfectVector faster than ChatGPT for image-to-SVG work?+
This page does not name a speed winner. OpenAI says image generation may take a few minutes depending on complexity, but ChatGPT's SVG-code workflow, model, mode, and available actions can differ. Our exploratory test was not complete enough to support a general timing claim.
Did PerfectVector prove that its output is better than ChatGPT?+
No. We did not complete a retained, repeated same-input benchmark across both products. This page compares their documented jobs and workflows, not output quality.
How should I check an SVG returned by either workflow?+
Open the file in the editor or production app you plan to use. Compare it with the source, zoom into small details and gaps, and confirm that it contains editable vector geometry rather than an embedded raster image.
Who develops PerfectVector's vectorization engine?+
PerfectVector is developed by Rastrix, a two-person team with PhD and master's training in deep learning and computer vision. The founders bring seven years of industry experience, have worked full time on the engine since November 2025, and develop the core vectorization algorithms and models in-house.
