A note from the two people building PerfectVector
Why we have to make the free allowance smaller.
PerfectVector is built by two friends. We have not raised outside funding. Seven months ago, we left our jobs to work on it full time, and we are still not taking salaries. We sometimes joke that we are heading toward a ramen-only budget, but the GPU bill is real.
After PerfectVector became popular on Reddit, traffic grew faster than our available GPU capacity. Jobs that usually took about 10 seconds sometimes took almost three minutes. We tried to keep the free allowance as generous as possible, but we cannot keep paying for the current level ourselves.
Starting July 21, 2026:
- New accounts get 5 welcome credits, valid for 30 days.
- We will no longer issue one free credit each day.
- Credits already in your account keep their existing expiry.
- Vectorization and preview remain free and unlimited.
- PAYG remains $5 for 10 permanent credits.
- Paid monthly plan prices and monthly credits are not changing.
We are sorry to make the free allowance smaller. We want PerfectVector to be around long enough to keep improving it, and this change gives us a better chance of doing that.
