# Supported inputs

Check the image requirements for PerfectVector MCP and send the original file.

## Image requirements

An image converted through PerfectVector MCP must meet all of these requirements:

- **Format:** PNG, JPEG, or WebP, with a single frame. Animated images aren't accepted.
- **File size:** at most 5 MiB.
- **Dimensions:** each side between 100 and 4,096 pixels.

Each conversion takes one image. PerfectVector MCP converts existing images only; it doesn't create images from a text description.

The website accepts more formats than PerfectVector MCP. If your image uses another format, save it as PNG, JPEG, or WebP before you convert it.

## Send the original image

Send the image you actually want converted. An image you can see in the conversation isn't always available to PerfectVector:

- **ChatGPT** can pass an attached image to PerfectVector, or you can choose the file in the PerfectVector card.
- **Claude** can't pass chat attachments to PerfectVector, so choose the file in the PerfectVector card.

See [Convert an image in a conversation](/docs/mcp/use-in-conversation) for both routes. For tips on choosing a good source, see [image preparation](/docs/mcp/image-preparation).

## If a file is rejected

Read the message from PerfectVector, check the file against the requirements above, then send a corrected file. Don't keep starting new conversions to work around an error you don't understand.

See [troubleshooting](/docs/mcp/troubleshooting) for common fixes. For browser-based conversion, visit the [PerfectVector tools directory](https://perfectvector.com/tools).
