# PerfectVector MCP

Convert your PNG, JPEG, and WebP images into SVG files without leaving ChatGPT or Claude.

## What is PerfectVector MCP?

PerfectVector MCP connects your PerfectVector account to ChatGPT or Claude. Once it's connected, you can ask your assistant to turn an image you already have into an SVG file, right in the conversation.

It uses the same account and the same credits as the [PerfectVector website](https://perfectvector.com). MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets an assistant use outside services such as PerfectVector.

## What it does

- It converts a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image into SVG, using PerfectVector's standard conversion settings.
- It shows the PerfectVector card in the conversation, where you can choose an image, follow progress, preview the result, and download the SVG.
- It lets your assistant read the finished SVG, so the assistant can use the file in a next step.

## What it doesn't do

- It doesn't create images from a text description. Start from an image you already have.
- It has no editing or conversion controls, such as detail level, number of colors, or background removal. Prepare the image first; see [Prepare your image](/docs/mcp/image-preparation).
- It can't sell you credits. Buy them on the website's [pricing page](https://perfectvector.com/pricing).

## How it works

1. Add PerfectVector to ChatGPT or Claude and sign in with Google. See [Connect your assistant](/docs/mcp/getting-started).
2. Ask your assistant to convert an image. In ChatGPT, attach it to your message or choose it in the PerfectVector card. In Claude, choose it in the card.
3. PerfectVector converts the image. The finished SVG is normally released to your conversation automatically when it's ready; credits are used (one credit today), and you can download the file.

The full walkthrough is in [Convert an image in a conversation](/docs/mcp/use-in-conversation).
